At Scott Bailey, we have always believed that a law firm is only as strong as the people behind it. Over the years, that belief has shaped not just how we work with clients, but how we build our team. As the firm continues to grow, we are now looking to welcome new colleagues who want to be part of something genuinely supportive, rooted in the local community, and built for the long term.
Our home is a characterful old building on Lymington High Street. It is full of warmth, personality and more than a few creaky floorboards. It feels more like a shared workspace than a corporate office, and that is very much intentional. Today, our team of over 50 people includes partners, lawyers, trainees, apprentices and support staff across a wide range of legal specialisms. The work is interesting, the atmosphere is friendly, and the team is genuinely supportive and refreshingly down to earth.
We make time to celebrate successes, support colleagues through challenges, and listen to ideas about how we can improve. Our social committee keeps things lively, with team lunches, wellbeing activities, sailing opportunities, quizzes and sports teams. Our four-legged friends are regular visitors, there are wedding mood boards pinned up, and photos from Christmas parties, awards evenings and out-of-work get-togethers framed around the office. It all adds up to a workplace where people feel comfortable being themselves, surrounded by colleagues and friends.
That sense of belonging extends beyond the office walls. Community matters to us, and we actively support local charities, clubs and causes that are important to our team. From sponsoring sports kits to taking part in fundraising events, we are proud to play our part in Lymington life.
We are also serious about development. Training and progression are not just buzzwords here. We support apprenticeships, professional qualifications and ongoing learning at every stage of a career. Many of our partners and senior team members started out in junior roles, and a significant number of colleagues have been with the firm for more than a decade. We are very proud of, and grateful for, the loyalty our team show us.
The exciting news is that, as our work continues to expand, we are currently recruiting for several roles, including private client paralegals and solicitors, commercial and residential property lawyers, a litigation solicitor and an employment lawyer. If your expertise falls outside of these roles, we are also open to conversations with people who share our values and beliefs and who would excel in an environment like ours.
